What is the DCS-Wiki?

Welcome to our DCS-Wiki! The abbreviation DCS stands for "Distributed Computing Systems" or "Distributed and Complex Systems". The DCS wiki contains topics of current distributed and complex systems research. We intend to provide a forum for sharing ideas and established knowledge - not as a discussion project but rather as a common collection of recent research results, breakthroughs and technical challenges. Sources and related projects are Wikipedia, the IEEE Distributed Systems Online site, C.R. Shalizi's Notebooks, the NECSI Complex Systems Wiki and the Principia Cybernetica.

Related Wikis are the SwarmWiki specialized on Swarm Intelligence and agent-based modelling and the EvoWiki on evolution. There are of course many other Wikis, for instance on filesharing and peer-to-peer systems. The aim of this Wiki is to complement and to extend rather than duplicate the existing online resources. The goal is to create a comprehensive encylopaedia specialized on distributed and complex systems, including a detailed glossary of the major related terms. At this time the Wiki contains 132 articles. A complete overview about all pages and all categories also exists.
